Welcome to The Lynwood Inn
Established in 1881, The Lynwood Inn has a rich history and has been cherished by guests for generations. For thirty years, it was lovingly operated by a family group from Connecticut, and as of March 9, 2023, it has been proudly owned by Cathy and Dan Mitchell. Living onsite year-round, Cathy and Dan bring a lifetime of experience in hospitality and a deep passion for caring for others. At Lynwood, “Kindness Matters.”
Summer Season – Memorial Day to Labor Day
Summer at The Lynwood Inn is always a special time. Families, both returning and new, often visit across generations to enjoy all that York Beach has to offer. Each summer, we also welcome up to eight J-1 university students and workers from around the world, sharing their first American summer experience with us.
Winter Time
We are open all year! Off season, our 13 beautifully appointed suites are also available for monthly rentals. We often host traveling healthcare professionals on 13- to 26-week contracts with local hospitals and care facilities. For those seeking shorter stays during the winter months, we’re open! “Excellent find tucked in between both short sands and long sands beach in York Maine. I Needed a place to get away for the weekend on short notice and found it through Expedia. Upon arrival I was surprised to find out my room was stocked with a full kitchen (plates and glassware included), and a full size fridge and freezer. Room also includes a pull out couch and full size deck. Parking included for one car as well. Five minute walk to downtown York and a five minute walk to long sands beach. I highly recommend the Lynwood if you are looking for a night away or an extended stay. – Yelp Review

“The Lynwood Inn has been in business for a very long time. We have stayed there many times over the years. Last week we were able to arrange to stay on a very busy weekend the 4th of July. The new owner Cathy was amazing. So very warm and accommodating. To her it is all about her guests experience. She has done some wonderful updating to the Inn and we were on the second floor with a wonderful balcony on the front of the Inn. I would highly recommend staying there when in the York Beach area. Where it is located makes it an easy walk to either Long or Short sands beaches and all the surrounding bars and restaurants in the area. “The Lynwood Inn is a wonderful place to stay in the Cape Neddick and York area. It is walking or biking distance of Short Sands Beach, Long Sands Beach, and the Nubble Lighthouse. We enjoyed being in a neighborhood to get away from the hustle and bustle of the beach. This year our room was in the front building facing the street on the first floor. The patio was a nice place to eat breakfast every morning, with enough bushes to give us a sense of privacy. “Just returned from a wonderful 4 days visit to the Lynwood Inn. There are new Innkeepers, Kathy & Dan, who are just the nicest and most accommodating people. They truly make you feel like a family member. We stayed in Room 1 which had recently been renovated and it was just perfect for a family of 4 plus a dog– yes, they are dog friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Had a very beachy feel to it. There’s a kitchenette w/a full sized fridge! We had a really large porch too. The location is very close to Short Sands Beach (may be a 5 minute walk). I understand they have recently renovated another room and during their quiet season, will continue renovating all the rooms.
